Martin F-1 archtop converted flat-top baritone

The arched top of this Martin F-1 was heavily worn, when it came to me. A perfect guitar for a conversion.

I was thinking of a baritone guitar for significantly low and non-standard tunings to widen my spectrum as a player. Again, Stefan Zirnbauer of Munich guitar shop did the conversion. As we did not want to move the bridge-position , he decided to build a completely new longer mahagoni neck including a original size headstock equipped with 16 frets off the body to have enough space.. Carefully he took off the original headstock-veneer and mounted it on the new headstock. The archtop was replaced with an lightly shaded adirondak flat-top with a ebony bridge The outcome of this operation is a very versatile instrument with a warm and woody, yet clear and open sound and great projection.
