Levin Model 120, 1959

This classical guitar in concert size was built in 1959 by Levin in Sweden. It features flame maple single bound back and flame maple sides, five ply bound spruce top, 50mm wide unbound rosewood fingerboard and a mahagony neck with a non adjustable duraluminum tross rod. According to the shape and specs, basically a nylon-strung classic guitar it is also usable with light steel-strings to cover the needs of players whilst the 60ies guitar and folk-boom.

Swedish made guitars, like Levin and later Goya, especially of the 50ies and 60ies are manufactured in great quality , looking at the craftsmenship and the tone-woods that were used. This is why they are very much appreciated by many players, not only in Sweden but also in the USA and Europe. C.F. Martin finally bought the Goya Company in the late 70ies. Apart from the quality of the instruments, Goya had large stocks of old-growth tonewoods like brazilian rosewood and honduras-mahagoni, which became quite scarce at that time.
